Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 17 March 2026

Please read these Terms carefully before creating an account. By registering, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use this service.

1. About This Service

AceLearner is a free online educational platform designed to help KS2 pupils in England and Wales prepare for SATs examinations. It is created and operated by an individual developer based in England and Wales (the “Operator”). It is not operated by a limited company.

There is no charge to use this service. No payment data is ever collected or processed.

2. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the parent or guardian registering an account) and the Operator. By creating an account, you confirm that:

  • You are aged 18 or over
  • You are the parent or legal guardian of any child account you create
  • You have read and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy
  • You have authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of your child

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use this service.

3. Who May Use This Service

This service is intended for children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) in the United Kingdom, accessed under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Child accounts may only be created by a parent or legal guardian. You must not create accounts for children for whom you do not have parental or guardian authority.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on AceLearner — including questions, answer explanations, teaching materials, topic structures, and the underlying software — is owned by or licensed to the Operator and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

By accessing this service, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the platform for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.

You must not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or republish any content from this platform without prior written permission
  • Use any automated means (including scrapers, bots, or crawlers) to access or extract content from the platform
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform
  • Use any content from this platform for commercial purposes

The question bank, explanations, and curriculum materials represent significant original work. Unauthorised reproduction is a breach of these Terms and may constitute copyright infringement.

5. Educational Content and Disclaimer

The content on AceLearner is designed to support preparation for UK KS2 SATs assessments. We take care to ensure accuracy and curriculum alignment. However:

  • We make no warranty that content is free from errors or omissions
  • This service is not a substitute for qualified teaching or professional educational advice
  • We make no guarantee of any particular educational outcome, examination result, or school admission
  • Curriculum requirements may change; we make reasonable efforts to keep content current but cannot guarantee it reflects the latest guidance at all times

6. Account Security and Password Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Specifically, you are responsible for:

  • Choosing a strong, unique password for this service
  • Not sharing your login credentials with anyone
  • Ensuring your AceLearner password is not the same as the password you use for your email account, online banking, or any other important service
  • All activity that takes place under your account
  • Notifying us promptly at privacy@acelearner.co.uk if you believe your account has been compromised

Your password is encrypted by our authentication provider (Supabase) before being stored. We never have access to your password in readable form. However, no system is completely immune to security risks. Password reuse across multiple services significantly increases your personal risk in the event of any security incident on any platform you use. This risk is entirely within your control.

We cannot be held liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of the same password across multiple services, or from your failure to maintain the security of your own credentials.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use this service only for its intended educational purpose and in accordance with all applicable laws. You must not:

  • Attempt to access, interfere with, or disrupt the platform or its underlying infrastructure
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security measures
  • Use the service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
  • Upload or transmit any malicious code or harmful content
  • Create accounts on behalf of children for whom you are not the parent or legal guardian
  • Impersonate any other person or misrepresent your relationship to a child
  • Use any automated tools to interact with the platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms without prior notice.

8. Privacy and Data

Your use of this service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into and forms part of these Terms. The Privacy Policy sets out what data we collect, why, and how it is used and protected.

In summary: authentication and password handling are managed by Supabase Auth using industry-standard encryption. We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service. We do not sell data, run advertising, or profile users commercially.

9. Service Availability

This service is provided free of charge by a single individual on a best-efforts basis. Accordingly:

  • We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted availability of the platform
  • We do not guarantee that the service will remain available indefinitely
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service or any feature at any time
  • We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime or material changes, but cannot guarantee this in all circumstances
  • We do not guarantee a specific response time for support enquiries

10. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • This service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or satisfactory quality
  • The Operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this service
  • The Operator shall not be liable for any loss of data, loss of educational opportunity, or failure to achieve any educational outcome
  • The Operator shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your reuse of a password across multiple services or from your failure to maintain the security of your own account credentials
  • The Operator's total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed zero pounds (£0), reflecting that this service is provided entirely free of charge

These limitations reflect the nature of this service as a free, individually operated resource. They do not affect your statutory rights.

11. Force Majeure

The Operator shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay arises from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes failures of third-party infrastructure providers (including Supabase or Vercel), internet outages, cyberattacks on third-party systems, or any other event outside our reasonable control.

12. Third-Party Services

This service relies on third-party infrastructure providers, principally Supabase (for database and authentication) and Vercel (for hosting). These providers operate under their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the service, applicable law, or our operating practices. The “Last updated” date at the top of this document reflects the current version.

For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice by email or by a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of the service after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the updated Terms, you should stop using the service and may request deletion of your account.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Entire Agreement and Severability

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Operator in relation to your use of this service. They supersede all prior discussions, representations, or agreements, whether written or oral.

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect as if the severed provision had never been included.
